Original "Fire King" Jade-Ware Bowls !
I don't know when my mother got these bowls,
or if she originally had the whole set...
(including 2-3 larger and one smaller bowl
that I have seen in antique stores.)
All I know is that these bowls were around
for my entire childhood memory!
I was blessed enough to inherit them,
and I use them all the time.
My best friend found the new "Fire King" Jade-Ware
that Anchor Hocking started making in 2000,
and she graciously bought me
EVERY piece that she could find!
It's hard to see, but my Kitchen walls
are a very close match to this green.
Everything tastes better served out of these bowls.
LOVE those bowls! Your kitchen color must be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI remember my aunt having a bunch of those bowls. I remember cobbler and waldorf salad being served in those at her home, lol.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful color.
My mom has similar bowls. Their durability is unsurpassed.
ReplyDeleteKEEP BELIEVING
I think my grandma had some like that!
ReplyDeleteShe also had 5 copper jello molds hanging on her kitchen wall for as long as I can remember.
They're now hanging on my kitchen wall.
My cousin has the candy dish that always sat on top of our grandparents refrigerator. It's sitting on top of her fridge now.
None of these items are valuable antiques, but they are rich with memories.
Oh, I've always liked bowls like that. I've no doubt food tastes better out of them.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I have some of my gradmother's dishes that I remember using on special occasions. I'm glad you use yours every day :)
ReplyDeleteI love those bowls, I think my grandma had some of those. They just don't make things like the used to, do they?
ReplyDeleteOk, would you believe I painted my walls fire-king green? I thought I was the only one who loved this color so much!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any of the older pieces, just the newer ones. Love the shape of yours!
Pretty bowls- very classy and timeless.
ReplyDeleteI love those bowls, how lucky you are to have them in your kitchen!
